WooCommerce support

WooCommerce problems fixed, on the shop you already have

Customers can’t pay, orders aren’t coming through, or you’ve changed a price and the shop still shows the old one. I find out how your shop actually works, then fix the part that’s wrong. No rebuild, and no new platform.

A broken checkout is a fixed £119 repair. Price and product updates start at £39.

  • A backup before I touch anything
  • You talk to the person fixing it
  • Confidential, NDA on request
  • Updates by WhatsApp, phone or email

Customers can’t pay right now? Emergency fixes start within the hour once we accept your job and have access, when we’re available.

Is this what you’re seeing?

These are the WooCommerce problems I’m asked about most. Seeing something different? Tell me what’s happening and I’ll let you know if I can help.

The checkout isn’t working

The checkout page won’t load, the button does nothing, or customers see an error when they try to pay.

Paid, but no order

The customer has been charged, but the order is missing, stuck on “pending” or marked as failed.

Stripe or PayPal has stopped

A payment method has disappeared from the checkout, or card payments fail after an update.

Prices won’t change

You’ve updated the price in WordPress, but customers still see the old one.

Variations or stock are wrong

Sizes or colours don’t show, products say “out of stock” when they aren’t, or some products have vanished from the shop.

Delivery charges are wrong

Every order pays the same delivery fee, free delivery doesn’t kick in, or overseas customers see UK rates.

VAT or totals look wrong

Prices show with or without VAT when they shouldn’t, or the checkout total doesn’t add up.

Tickets, renewals or members

Duplicate tickets, subscriptions that don’t renew, or members who’ve paid but can’t get in.

Before you do anything else

A shop holds orders and customer details, so a hasty fix can do more harm than the fault.

  • Don’t restore an old backup over a live shop

Any orders and customer accounts created since that backup will be lost.

  • Don’t delete and reinstall WooCommerce or your payment plugin

You can lose settings and payment connections, and it rarely fixes the cause.

  • Note the orders that went wrong

Order numbers, times and what the customer saw. It’s the fastest way to the cause.

  • Screenshot any error message

On the checkout, in your WordPress admin, or in your Stripe or PayPal account.

Events, tickets, subscriptions and memberships

Many WooCommerce sites sell more than products. They sell event tickets, monthly subscriptions or paid memberships, and they send members emails from a CRM. Those plugins all share the same orders, customers and background jobs, so a fault in one often shows up somewhere else.

I look after a membership and events site that runs all of these together, so I know how they depend on each other. When a renewal fails or a ticket is duplicated, I follow the order through each plugin to find where it went wrong, rather than guessing which one to blame.

That matters most when money and access are involved: a member who has paid should get in, and an event shouldn’t show as full when it isn’t.

Plugins I work with

  • WooCommerce, including the newer block checkout
  • Stripe and PayPal payment plugins
  • WooCommerce Subscriptions
  • The Events Calendar and Event Tickets Plus
  • Paid Memberships Pro
  • FluentCRM
  • Shops built with form plugins such as Forminator

Real examples

Shop problems often start somewhere you wouldn’t think to look. These are from real jobs, with the clients’ details left out.

A coffee importer’s online shop

Prices that wouldn’t change

The owner changed her prices in WooCommerce, following step-by-step instructions from ChatGPT, but the shop kept showing the old ones. When I looked, the shop wasn’t using WooCommerce’s prices at all. A previous developer had built the ordering page with Forminator, a forms plugin, and the prices were calculation fields inside that form.

What I found: the prices lived in a form, not in WooCommerce, so changing WooCommerce could never change them.

The same coffee shop

Delivery that was always £3.99

The owner expected different charges for Royal Mail Tracked 24, Tracked 48 and international delivery, by weight. The delivery charge was one calculation field, 0.01 + 3.98, so every order paid £3.99 whatever it weighed or wherever it was going.

What I found: there were no shipping rules to edit. Rates by weight, destination and speed would need to be built, so I worked out what that would take.

A hospitality membership organisation

Two tickets ordered, four attendees created

An order for two event tickets was creating four attendee records, which threw out the event’s capacity. I traced it to two order-processing steps creating tickets at the same moment, before either had recorded that the tickets already existed. I wrote a small must-use plugin that puts a database lock around ticket creation, so only one process can create them at a time.

What I did: installed the lock and tested that it works.

The same organisation

Moving a membership and events site

The site ran WooCommerce, Subscriptions, Elementor, The Events Calendar, Paid Memberships Pro and FluentCRM, and needed to move from AWS Lightsail to SiteGround. A migration plugin would have copied years of old backups and caches with it, so I moved the site by hand over SSH and left those out.

What I did: compared orders, CRM records and scheduled jobs between the old and new servers, and tested the pages on the new host.

How it works

1

Order and tell me what’s happening

Order online, then tell me what customers are seeing, which orders are affected and what changed just before it started.

2

Give me access

You add me as a user in WordPress, so you never need to send me your password. For payment problems, I may also ask you to share a screen of your Stripe or PayPal account.

3

I work out how your shop works

I take a full backup, then trace where your prices, delivery charges and orders really come from before I change anything.

4

You get a plain-English note

What was wrong, what I did, and anything to watch for next time you change the shop.

Your shop and your customers stay private

Fixing a shop can mean seeing orders and customer details. This is how I handle that.

  • Confidential by default

What I see in your shop, and anything you tell me, stays between us.

  • Your NDA, signed first

If you’d like a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), I’ll sign yours before you share anything.

  • Your password stays yours

You add me as a user with my own login, and you can remove me when the job’s done.

  • A backup before any change

A full copy of your shop, orders included, is taken before I change anything.

Not sure this is the right service?

This page is for the shop side of your site. If the problem is elsewhere, one of these may suit you better.

Is the whole site broken?

If every page shows an error or a white screen, not just the shop, start with a WordPress repair.

Emails not arriving?

If orders go through but you or your customers don’t get the emails, that’s usually an email delivery problem.

WooCommerce support questions

My checkout has stopped working. How quickly can you start?

If your checkout has stopped working, I’ll acknowledge it within 4 hours during support hours (9:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday). Add priority when you order (£49 extra) and I’ll start within 2 working hours. If customers can’t pay right now and it can’t wait, use emergency WordPress support.

Do you work on shops you didn’t build?

Yes, and most of the shops I work on were built by someone else. I find out how yours actually works before I change anything, including any custom code or unusual set-up, such as prices held in a form instead of in WooCommerce.

Do I need to give you my password?

No. You add me as a user in WordPress with my own login, so your password stays yours. You can remove me as soon as the job’s done.

Will I lose any orders?

I take a full backup before I change anything. I never restore an old backup over a live shop, because that would wipe out orders placed since. If orders have already gone missing, tell me which ones and when, and I’ll check what can be recovered.

A customer paid but there’s no order. What happened?

Usually the payment went through at Stripe or PayPal, but the message that tells your shop the payment succeeded didn’t arrive or wasn’t accepted. That can usually be fixed without changing how your shop works. Keep a note of the order and payment details, and don’t refund or re-charge the customer until we know what happened.

I changed my prices but the shop still shows the old ones. Can you help?

Yes. Sometimes it’s a cache showing an old copy of the page. Sometimes the prices aren’t coming from WooCommerce at all: I’ve found shop prices held inside a form plugin’s calculations. I’ll find where your prices really come from and change them there. A small change is £39.

Can you set up delivery charges by weight or country?

Yes. Sometimes that’s a settings change in WooCommerce’s shipping zones. If your shop doesn’t have the rules to support it, it needs building, and I’ll give you an estimate first at £75 an hour.

Do you support subscriptions, memberships and event tickets?

Yes. I work with WooCommerce Subscriptions, Paid Memberships Pro, The Events Calendar, Event Tickets Plus and FluentCRM, including sites that run them all together.

I think my shop has been hacked. Is this the right service?

Not quite. A hacked site needs a malware clean-up, which is a separate fixed price of £149. Get a hacked site cleaned up at websitefix.uk. If you think customers’ card or personal details may have been exposed, contact your payment provider straight away as well.
